The first edition of Ptosis is a classic in this field. It has probably been read by more surgeons interested in ptosis than all other manuscripts on this subject combined. The second edition updates and expands the excellence of its parent copy. Dr Beard's experience with ptosis cases has nearly doubled in the seven years that have passed since his first book was written. He describes those changes in his technique and advances and deletions made by others that he feels are practical.

The book is well organized, is easily read, and is pleasantly free of editorial errors. Dr Beard's practical and efficacious approach to ptosis surgery is well described in this book. The text and illustrations so well complement each other with precise detail that it is hard to believe that the author and artist are not one.
