All physicians are interested in the treatment of disease and ophthalmologists are no exception, as evidenced by the popularity of the all-day symposia on ocular therapy at the annual meetings of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology held in conjunction with the Association for Research in Ophthalmology. The present volume records the fourth such symposium.
The 12 chapters by a distinguished panel of authors include both review articles and in the case of phospholine-induced cataracts and drug therapy of uveitis, new data of clinical significance.
There are excellent review chapters on therapy of retinal vascular occlusions, topically administered corticosteroids and immunosuppressants, early detection of ocular toxicity induced by systemically administered drugs, drug-induced pseudotumor cerebri, and long-term use of carbonic anhydrase inhibitors.
