This 628-page volume contains a series of papers given at the Corneo-Plastic Conference in London in the summer of 1967, and it reflects status of the field at that time. The publishing of this book has been delayed by the tragedies which have affected the Rycroft family. Sir Benjamin, who organized the Congress, died a few months before it was held. His ophthalmologist son, Peter, who edited this volume, was fatally injured in a traffic accident six months later.
In spite of these unfortunate circumstances, many excellent articles in this volume are very much up to date. The first sections deal with new information on ptosis surgery, lid reconstruction, and surgery of the lacrimal apparatus. Many high quality papers on the major issues of keratoplasty and various forms of artificial prostheses are presented.
