The authors of this tidy, timely volume set for themselves the task of presenting the techniques of photocoagulation and retinal angiography and their application to the diagnosis and treatment of retinal and choroidal diseases. They also determined to restrict their presentation to information that is of maximum usefulness to eye physicians caring for patients on a day-to-day basis. The result is a book that not only can but should be read by all practicing ophthalmologists.

The first seven chapters present in lucid, readable form the technology of lasers, the history of photocoagulation, techniques of laser use, and a description of fluorescein retinal angiography. The histopathology of laser and xenon-arc lesions in the human eye are well documented by excellent photomicrographs. Commercially available laser coagulators are described and compared with each other and with the xenon-arc photocoagulator.
