To the Editor.

—I agree with Dr. Rosen that the figures do not sharply demonstrate the posterior herniation of the lens material (which definitely was present), but do show dramatically the rupture in the posterior lens capsule. It was hoped that the accompanying legend would help to explain and correlate this ocular condition. Clinically, there was no question as to the diagnosis, as this was confirmed by several eminent eye physicians. Unfortunately, I was not present at the time the photos were taken, which in themselves were excellent, so that I assume responsibility for the lack of a clearcut pictorial demonstration of the lenticonus. It would have undoubtedly been better revealed by bringing the light from a wide angle to get a broad lenticular refractive deviation. . . . [Full Text PDF of this Article]
