This well printed and illustrated volume provides an excellent résumé of the authors' experiences with all phases of cataract surgery from embryology to a tabulation of final results. It is, of course, too much to expect that every surgeon will agree completely with all the statements made, but, because of the vast experience of the authors, the average reader should think twice before disagreeing very widely. Books which relate the personal conclusions of those with wide experience are always valuable. This is no exception.
