This volume presents 17 uneven lectures and papers by 11 contributors on various topics in neuro-ophthalmology that were delivered at a postgraduate instructional course at the University of Miami. Most of the material can be found in other publications. The editor, whose infectious enthusiasm for neuro-ophthalmology permeates this book, is also its major contributor. The material appears to be mainly aimed at the practitioner whose interest in the field is mainly peripheral and practical and who wants to make easy, quick diagnoses in an extremely difficult field. The lectures consist of both excellent and fair scientific papers, good descriptions of neuro-ophthalmological examining techniques, and essays and lists on differential diagnosis. It is unlikely that the reader will come away from any chapter without some new facts.
I must cavil a little on a few points. I would have rather called this book, "lectures on," "some aspects of," or "proceedings of"
