It was in 1951 that I first reported an operation for the repair of senile entropion.¹ I have been gratified by the numerous and diverse sources who have expressed their interest in and approval of the procedure since then.

As with any operation which is repeated over the years in hundreds of cases, short cuts have been found and improvements in technique have been made. Thus the technique is not only simpler now than originally reported but is more certain of a longlasting result. Some, but not all, of these modifications have been reported.^2-4 But, judging by the questions constantly asked, many users of this procedure are not even aware of all the reported changes. The technique now used is as follows:

1. Just lateral to the outer canthus a unilateral triangle measuring 10 to 12 mm at the base is drawn with an antiseptic dye. The base is
