OBITUARY

Frank W. Weymouth, 1884-1963.

—After a short illness, Frank W. Weymouth, Emeritus Professor of Physiology (Stanford University) died on March 19, 1963, at the age of 78. Only one month earlier he had been active as a Research Physiological Opticist at the University of California School of Optometry in Berkeley.

He was born in Seattle, Wash, on June 17, 1884. His scientific career began in 1909 when he received his Bachelor's degree in Zoology at Stanford. While pursuing his graduate studies he held several positions: Assistant in Physiology at Johns Hopkins Medical School (1912-1913); Instructor (1911-1912) and Assistant Professor (1913-1922) of Physiology at Stanford; scientific adviser to the California Fish and Game Commission (1910-1923) and the British Columbia Provincial Fisheries (1914-1917). When Frank Weymouth received his PhD degree in Zoology (Stanford) in 1923 he had already published three scientific papers on human vision and eight articles on crustacea. In . . .
