To the Editor:
—I beg to call to the attention of your readers that according to the indications in "The Treatment of Ocular Toxoplasmosis with Spiramycin" (ARCH. OPHTHAL. 65:401-409, 1961) I have had occasion to employ "Rovaciclina" (which is a mixture of spiramycin, tetracycline phosphate complex, and several vitamins) in cases of toxoplasmosis and also as a general antibiotic. In April and May, 1962, I observed 3 cases of hemorrhages in the vitreous which have not been recurrent following substitution of this antibiotic for others which I had employed for several years in accordance with recommendations in the literature. The 3 cases have not had untoward consequences because the blood is absorbed after a period of 2-3 months, leaving slight residua of organization in the vitreous.
