Frederick Miller Reese, M.D.

1905-1962.—Frederick Miller Reese died suddenly at his home in Baltimore on July 30, 1962. Born in Sullivan, Ill., March 29, 1905, he received his preliminary education in the public schools of Sullivan and graduated from the University of Illinois with the degree of A.B. in 1927. He received his M.D. from Johns Hopkins in 1931. After a year on the medical service at Duke University Hospital, he came to the Wilmer Institute and completed his residency in 1935. He remained as a full-time member of the Wilmer Staff for three years, after which he entered private practice in Baltimore.

During World War II he was ophthalmologist for the 118th General Hospital, one of the two units of The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
