To the Editor:

—At the 13th Annual Meeting of the Wills Eye Hospital I presented a paper entitled "A Method for Removal of a Hypermature Lens" and demonstrated it on television. The novel part of this procedure was the turning over of the Arruga forceps so that they were upside down and with this small area of the forcep a small bite was taken in the capsule at 12 o'clock, 2 mm. from the equator, on the anterior surface of the lens. The lens was then delivered by a "rock and roll" method and by lifting the lens over the lip of the sclera.

This method has been used by me for several years and now, with the advent of chymotrypsin, I find it the method of choice. . . . [Full Text PDF of this Article]
