This book will be of value to those interested in visual aids for the partially sighted. Many types of spectacles and magnifying glasses are described, and their advantages and limitations discussed. Instructions about their prescription and use are also included.
In addition, there are chapters about the legal interpretation of partial sight and blindness and on the problems of partially sighted children. Some of the author's recommendations are open to question. This is particularly true of his statement that the use of contact lenses in childhood will prevent the progress of myopia.
The text is well printed, well illustrated, and contains a full bibliography.
