This self-educational approach is greatly facilitated and simplified with the aid of aphakicpower-range corneal contact lens trial sets having a full range of inside radius base curves.
When one compares the failure rates of the various groups of refractive errors fitted with corneal contact lenses, one finds the postoperative cataract group to be very low. Every day, more aphakics (postoperative cataract patients) are eagerly and gratefully switching from spectacle lens correction to contact lens correction of their severe refractive errors. The marked improvement in visual function1,2 afforded by contact lens correction for the postoperative cataract patient is the major stimulating factor for the use of contact lenses in this group.
