A Discussion of the Cases of Theobald, Reeh and Lehman, and Sadí de Buen and Velázquez

In 1941 Georgiana Dvorak-Theobald¹ published a study of the histologic eye findings in arachnodactyly and in 1954 Reeh and Lehman² presented a clinicopathologic case report on the eyes of a patient with such a condition. Most recently Sadí de Buen and Velázquez³ have added a third case to this series.

We were impressed with the remarkable developmental anomalies in the chamber angles of the eyes of these patients and suspected that chamber angle changes might be a regular occurrence in patients with arachnodactyly. Gonioscopic studies in patients with Marfan's syndrome have confirmed this suspicion (Burian⁴). They have now been discussed in more detail by von Noorden and Schultz.⁵
