This textbook of anatomy, designed for the undergraduate medical and dental student, has good chapters on the eye, the orbit, and the brain and cranial nerves, which will be of great service to residents in ophthalmology as a general review. The illustrations are good in black and white but not outstanding. The text is well written and has a distinct advantage over most anatomy books in containing good references to recent literature, and has, therefore, been kept up to date extremely well. For example, after a description of the so-called pectinate ligament a footnote reads, "however, it has been maintained that the pectinate ligament elements are not present in the average human eye (Allen, L.; Burian, H., and Braley, A. E.: A.M.A. ARCH. OPHTH. 53:799, 1955)." This is typical of the whole chapter on the eye and orbit. . . . [Full Text PDF of this Article]
