Dr. Edward A. Maumenee.

—The Society of Military Ophthalmologists awarded the certificate of Honorary Membership to Edward A. Maumenee, M.D., at its annual meeting in Chicago on Oct. 13, 1959. This award is made periodically to an outstanding ophthalmologist who has contributed to the advance of military ophthalmology.

—The West Virginia Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology will hold its annual meeting at the Greenbrier Hotel, White Sulphur Springs, W. Va., from April 10-12, 1960. Among the guest speakers will be: Dr. Harold G. Scheie, Professor of Ophthalmology, Pennsylvania University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, Dr. Charles E.
