World List of Current Periodicals in Ophthalmology, Optics, and Optometry

Introduction

In attempting to survey ophthalmic and related periodicals for a particular purpose, it was found that there was no comprehensive listing of current ophthalmic periodicals. To remedy this situation, the task of preparing such a list was undertaken. It is hoped that this specialized list of current periodicals will serve as a useful reference tool for ophthalmologists, optometrists, opticians, librarians, and all those interested in publications of an ophthalmic nature.

Scope

The list is international in scope, and contains titles of all current ophthalmic, optic, and optometric periodicals (including annual reports, transactions, proceedings, and congresses) which have been traced in bibliographic sources available at the University of California Medical Center Library, the University of California libraries at Berkeley, and the Lane Medical Library of Stanford University. In many cases, additional information was obtained by correspondence with publishers of the periodicals.
