This is the third bibliography of this series to be published. The first appeared in the March, 1956, issue of the A.M.A. ARCHIVES OF OPHTHALMOLOGY and the second in the June, 1958, issue of the same journal. These three offerings embrace the literature of the history of ophthalmology from 1952 through 1958. For a bibliography of the period of May, 1947, through June, 1951, the reader is referred to the work of G. ten Doesschate which appeared in Advances in Ophthalmology (Fortschritte der Augenheilkunde) 1:27-36, 1952 (Basel, S. Karger).

The format used in the first two bibliographies of this series is used again in this third work. The titles, over 250 of them, have been taken largely from readily available books and journals.
