This monograph deals with experiments on the retinal circulation of cats. The author is not an ophthalmologist, but a pharmacologist who has been working in the pharmacology of small vessels in other portions of the body. As tools for research he has chosen new methods of intravital microscopy, histologic staining methods, and perfusion methods commonly used in pharmacological experimentation. The observed changes have been photographed under magnification of 25 to 150 times. All researchers in this field will find this book extremely stimulating. At the present time there is very little that can be applied clinically.
