ANNOUNCEMENTS

Public Health Service Research Grant Applications.

—The U. S. Public Health Service has announced a new procedure to expedite the processing of research grant applications for those requests which do not exceed $2000 plus indirect costs and which do not ask support for more than one year. Such applications will be accepted and processed on receipt and are not therefore subject to the usual deadlines for submission prior to review.

Council recommendations can be expected on these applications within one to four months from the time of submission. These procedures do not apply for requests for supplements to existing grants.

Address all applications, as well as requests for forms or additional information, to the Division of Research Grants, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda 14, Md.
