The tonography studies of Grant * have shown clinically the importance of the outflow of the aqueous humor. It is the decrease of the outflow in wide-angle glaucoma that is especially interesting.

Normally, the average value for outflow of aqueous humor per millimeter Hg per minute (C) is 0.24 cu. mm. according to Kronfeld,¹¹ 0.23 cu. mm. according to Grant⁹ and Mansheim,¹² and 0.22 cu. mm. according to Weekers and Prijot.¹⁸

The resistance to the outflow of aqueous humor (R) is inversely proportional to the value of C, that is, 1/C. According to Weekers, Watillon, de Rudder, and Lustin (1955), the average values of R are 3.7 for ages less than 35 years, 4 for ages between 35 and 55, and 4 for ages past 55.
