This book is intended for the newly blinded and those who work with them. It gives instruction to the blind on their personal appearance and their table manners, advice on deportment in going out alone, and the use of a Seeing Eye dog, and chapters on shopping, homemaking, caring for the baby, and the various activities which may occupy them in earning a living and in their leisure time. There is also an excellent section addressed to the sighted, giving homely advice about their methods of handling blind people.

The volume is an excellent addition to the many books that have recently been published to create better understanding in the care of the blind, in particular by helping the blind adjust to a seeing world.
