GENERAL NEWS

The American Orthoptic Council.

—The American Orthoptic Council announces that its annual intensive course in orthoptics will be presented in St. Louis, from July 1, 1952, through Aug. 30, 1952. The tuition is $150, $50 being payable at the time of application as a matriculation fee. The Council requires a minimum of nine months for certification, and those taking the course receive credit for two months. The remainder of the training time is spent in practical work, similar to an internship, at any one of a number of approved training places. All practical training must be completed under the supervision of an orthoptic technician who has received the Council's certificate. The Council endeavors to place all students for practical training if they have not already made such arrangements prior to taking the course.
