This effect became evident after the third week of treatment. There were, however, both clinical and histologic evidences of active disease in the eyes of these treated animals, although much less than in the controls. In the next study,1b it was shown that the deterrent action in the normal rabbit, in which there was no immunity and the test therefore was much severer, was much less than in the immune-allergic animal. In the third study,1c the therapeutic actions of streptomycin and of the combination of streptomycin and promizole® in the immuneallergic rabbit with ocular tuberculosis were reported.
