Number three was devised by me twenty or more years ago and has been on the market for at least fifteen years. It is manufactured by E. B. Meyrowitz of New York and by V. Mueller & Company of Chicago. I described this spud in one of the defunct ophthalmic journals, but which one I cannot recall. I had long felt that most spuds on the market were too large, and a point that I made in the instruction to the manufacturer was that this one should be only 0.5 mm. I am glad Dr. Walter has found this spud to be of practical value.
