New Courses at New York University College of Medicine.

—A basic science training course in ophthalmology is offered by the graduate department of ophthalmology at New York University College of Medicine. Dr. Daniel B. Kirby is the professor of ophthalmology, and Dr. Conrad Berens is the director of the course.

Nine months of intensive training in ophthalmology is given in preparation for a residency in ophthalmology in an approved hospital. The standards of the American Board of Ophthalmology were used as a guide in outlining the curriculum.

New courses instituted during the past year include pharmacology as a course separate from physiology and therapeutics, syphilis of the eye, medical ophthalmology and retinal physiology.

Among the new instructors are Dr. Edward Hartmann and Dr. Wendell Krieg.
