Under the presidency of Dr. B. K. Narayana Rao, the fifth conference of the All-India Ophthalmological Society was held on Dec. 18-21, 1936, in the Patiala Block of the King Edward Medical College, Lahore. The society publishes the proceedings of the meeting as soon after the conference as possible.
The program was opened with a symposium on diabetes and ocular diseases. This was followed by papers on corneal grafting, tattooing of the cornea, various types of operations for cataract and on a number of clinical conditions. Of particular interest were a number of papers on glaucoma in connection with epidemic dropsy, particularly regarding the changes in the visual fields and the influence of dark adaptation.
