The first edition of this textbook was reviewed in the ARCHIVES in November 1934 (vol. 12, p. 796). The second edition consists of a revision of the first, with the addition of new matter on the vegetative nervous system, on localization in the cerebral cortex and on electroencephalography. The chapter on infections has been rearranged, and new treatment for migraine, myasthenia gravis and myotonia congenita, material on vitamin deficiency in neuritis and new data on the relation of the cerebellum to the cortex have been added. These additions bring the book up to date and, together with the many admirable features which characterized the previous presentation of the subject-matter in the first edition, make it an unusually good textbook which should appeal to a steadily increasing group of readers.
