In this ever changing world the members of the medical profession have found it necessary to treat man's bodily and mental afflictions with newer and more specific therapeutic methods. This evolutionary change has been based on the advancement of science. In the past it was thought that many of the ailments of mankind were produced by changes in the humors of the body. With the advent of newer knowledge of bacteria and their associated toxins, a major portion of the diseases were attributed to bacterial invasion of the body; thus focal infection came into vogue as an underlying cause of many diseases.
