In a previous article1 the rôle of the blood vessels of the iris in the absorption of foreign and native crystalloids from the anterior chamber has been discussed. The experiments there presented led to the conclusion that the fate of foreign crystalloids injected into the anterior chamber bore no relation to the rate or mechanism of reabsorption of water, the former being controlled by the rate of diffusion of the crystalloid and the area of the vessels of the iris exposed to this diffusion, while the latter depends on hydrostatic and colloid osmotic pressure differences between the aqueous and the intravascular fluid, particularly the fluid within Schlemm's canal. It was a natural extension of this study to investigate by the same technic the absorption of colloids from the anterior chamber.
