In the article titled "A Controlled Trial of Oral Acyclovir for the Prevention of Stromal Keratitis or Iritis in Patients With Herpes Simplex Virus Epithelial Keratitis: The Epithelial Trial," published in the June ARCHIVES (1997;115:703-712), the word "cause" was used instead of "course" in the first sentence under the subheading "Resolution of HSV Epithelial Keratitis" (page 707, second column, bottom). The sentence is reprinted correctly here: Among the 271 patients in whom the course of the epithelial keratitis was evaluable, its size decreased to less than 1 mm or it resolved by the week 1 visit in 237 patients (87%), by the week 2 visit in 264 patients (97%), and by the week 3 visit in 269 patients (99%). The journal apologizes for this mistake.
