Arthur S. Polans, PhD, Was Named Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science
at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Medicine. He also holds the position of assistant professor in the Department of Biomolecular Chemistry. Dr Polans is the recipient of a Research to Prevent Blindness (RPB) professorship from RPB, New York, NY. Prior to coming to Madison, Dr Polans was an associate scientist at the R. S. Dow Neurological Sciences Institute, Good Samaritan Hospital, Portland, Ore, and assistant professor in the De
partments of Ophthalmology and Biochemistry at Oregon Health Sciences University, Portland.
