Children's National Medical Center Names Chair.

Mohamad Sami Jaafar, MD, has been named Chair, Department of Ophthalmology, Children's National Medical Center, Washington, DC. Dr Jaafar completed his residency training in ophthalmology at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon, and the Washington (DC) Hospital Center. He completed clinical fellowships in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, Mass, and Texas Children's Hospital, Baylor College of Medicine, Houston. After serving as Chief of Pediatric Ophthalmology at the King Khaled Eye Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Dr Jaafar joined the Children's National Medical Center and served as Interim Chair of Ophthalmology. Dr Jaafar is presently Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Pediatrics, George Washington University, Washington, DC.
