We read the article by Bergren titled "Four-Point Fixation Technique for Sutured Posterior Chamber Intraocular Lenses"¹ with great interest. We are glad to see yet another modification of transscleral suture fixation of posterior chamber lenses, and the author should be commended. Unfortunately, however, the author fails to refer to the first reported series of transscleral suture fixation of posterior chamber lenses to the sulcus through the limbal approach.² In fact, the technique of Bergren appears to be a modification, in principle, of one of the two techniques (method 1) described and illustrated in the article by Hu et al.² We agree with Bergren on the advantage of using a one-piece polymethyl methacrylate posterior chamber intraocular lens with an eyelet in the middle of each haptic (model CZ70BD, Cilco, Alcon Surgical, Fort Worth, Tex, or model 6190B, IOLAB, Claremont, Calif) as we mentioned previously.³ On the other . . .
