With volume 8 of the Textbook of Ophthalmology, the editors have accomplished their goal of "packaging today's relevant ophthalmic knowledge" of external diseases into a resource that is "manageable, readable, and affordable."
The volume is organized into 15 chapters compiled by noted authors and contributors. The subject matter is diverse, ranging from relevant basic science material to specific up-to-date, step-by-step guidelines regarding surgical procedures, including commentary on complication management. Each chapter is of a digestible length, making it possible to assimilate a great amount of information in a relatively short time. This makes the book not only a valuable reference but should also make it useful for speedy last-minute examination preparation.
