Because our manuscript was submitted in October 1993 and published in the ARCHIVES in April 1994,1 it would not have been possible for us to know about Dr Uram's patent, which was issued in June 1994. It appears that our work proceeded in a parallel fashion with his. This only indicates that it is generated from a clear need, and we believe that this product will find a wide clinical use. . . .
