University of Texas Regents Name Distinguished Research Professorship.
A distinguished research professorship has been named in honor of David F. Weeks, the president of Research to Prevent Blindness (RPB), New York, NY, by the Regents of the University of Texas. The endowed professorship will be activated at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. The Weeks professorship will support an ophthalmic investigator studying eye disease and will be supported entirely by funding sources other than RPB.
American Board of Ophthalmology Chooses New Executive Director.
Denis M. O'Day, MD, George W. Hale professor and chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tenn, has been selected executive director of The American Board of Ophthalmology, Bala Cynwyd, Pa, effective January 1, 1996. During 1995, Dr O'Day will serve as associate executive director and vice-chairman of the board.
