A good atlas of ophthalmic surgical complications has been sorely needed. This one is a comprehensive, up-to-date volume that covers the complications of all types of ocular surgery. The large (9 x 12-in) format allows a clear display of text, tables, line drawings, and clinical photographs without the crowding and loss of detail inherent in many textbooks.

Editors Krupin and Kolker have chosen knowledgeable specialists to author each of the 16 chapters. In general, each chapter briefly reviews current surgical practices, then describes the treatment of the operative and postoperative complications. The atlas is richly illustrated with excellent line drawings and diagrams, which add immensely to the text. Clinical photographs are well-chosen and plentiful, some with explanatory-labeled drawings to ensure that important fine details are not missed.
