In reply

We would like to thank Drs Srinivasan and Sundar for their interest and comments concerning our case report.1 Their article from the Journal of Tamil Nadu Ophthalmic Association2describing eight cases of Nocardia endophthalmitis following posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation did not appear in our literature search. It is interesting that these authors found nocardial endophthalmitis to occur relatively commonly in their patients in India. Also, similar to our case report, the patients described by these authors had a relatively poor prognosis from this infection. Although all of the infections resolved with intensive topical therapy and the globes were retained, the patients were reported to have a visual acuity of light perception or hand motion.
