Ran Zeimer, PhD, Joins Faculty at The Wilmer Ophthalmological Institute.

Ran Zeimer, PhD, has joined the faculty of The Johns Hopkins University's Wilmer Opthalmological Institute, Baltimore, Md, as professor of ophthalmology. He was previously research professor in the department of ophthalmology and visual sciences and director of the Applied Physics laboratory at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Among Dr Zeimer's inventions are an x-ray fluorescence spectrophotometer to detect trace metals in the living eye; a self-tonometer for use in the home setting; a noninvasive retinal thickness analyzer; and a method of lasertargeted drug delivery.

Dedication of the Edward Maumenee Professorship.

The A. Edward Maumenee Professorship in Ophthalmology was dedicated on Friday, December 10, 1993, during The Wilmer Ophthalmological Institute's Current Concepts Meetings in Baltimore, Md.
