To the Editor.

—I would like to compliment Freedman and Rubin¹ on their fine work that appeared in the October 1991 issue of the ARCHIVES. The authors mentioned that in five patients in whom a Tenon's cyst developed, the cysts were partially excised and the eyes received daily injections of fluorouracil (0.5 to 1 mg) for 14 days.

The Fluorouracil Filtering Surgery Study² involved 5-mg injections administered twice daily for 7 days followed by a daily injection of 5 mg for 7 days (maximum dose, 105 mg). This resulted in a success rate of 73%. Eyes with successful results had an intraocular pressure of 21 mm Hg or lower at 1-year follow-up. Other researchers (A. L. Grajewski, MD, S. M.
