—Dr Mackool raises an interesting question for which I do not have a good answer. Certainly, patients with polypropylene loops in the optical area often complain of vague visual phenomena that I have always assumed were secondary to these lens loops. I have not seen this problem with clear PMMA lens haptics, which are usually much less flexible and, I hope, less likely to bend into the visual axis. Certainly, time will tell. I appreciate Dr Mackool's question and his interest in our article.
