Tissue Banks International Eye Research Program Awards Five Grants.

—Tissue Banks International (TBI) has announced that five projects have been selected by its Research Committee to receive funding for 1990-91. According to Walter J. Stark, MD, Medical Director of TBI, and Ronald E. Smith, MD, Chairman of the TBI Research Committee, the following projects were awarded TBI Eye Research Program grants ranging from $5000 to $10 000: "The Effects of Corneal Storage on Prostaglandin E Z Synthesis," Marcia Jumblatt, MA, University of Louisville, Ky; "The Safety and Efficacy of Ciprofloxin in Tissue Culture Media," Scott X. Stevens, MD, Dean A. McGee Eye Institute, Oklahoma (Okla) City; "A Morphologic Investigation Comparing Human Corneal Storage in UW, M-K and Dexsol Preservation Solutions," L. David Ormerod, MD, Loma Linda (Calif) University Medical Center; "Efficacy and Safety of Improved Antibacterial Regimens for Corneal Storage," David Hwang, MD, Doheny Eye Institute, Los Angeles, Calif; . . .
