—The lens most frequently used for binocular indirect ophthalmoscopy is the 20-diopter (D) lens. The 28-D lens has special advantages in retinal detachment surgery, pediatric examination, and eyes with intraocular gas. The 90-D lens has recently become available and affords the advantage of high magnification of posterior pole pathology as well as detailed examination of the vitreous body. Retinologists often use all three lenses alternately. We devised a case that accommodates all three lenses together (Figure). The multiple lens carrying case is less cumbersome and fits more easily in the pocket of an ophthalmologist's gown than three separate and identical carrying cases. . . .
