The author has updated his color atlas of the more common ophthalmologic diagnoses with new photographs and a text revision. He points out that it is intended for the busy family physician or medical student who needs to have a ready reference manual rather than wade through a major textbook. In this publication are assembled numerous excellent color photographs that are certainly superior to the black-and-white reproductions found in most eye textbooks. Mr Bedford disclaims any attempt at producing a textbook but does give a brief description and suggested treatment of each entity. He also nicely outlines the rudiments of the examination of the eye, with emphasis on the use of basic examining equipment.
