This work fills a void in the Englishlanguage scientific literature and is a most welcome addition. While bits and pieces of information concerning the peripheral fundus have been reported, a comprehensive consideration dealing specifically with this complex and important region has yet to be published.

There are some minor problems in organization. The book begins in an orderly fashion, dividing the discussion into two major categories, "normal" and "pathology." Under the "normal" category, the authors surprisingly place the chapter on embryology after anatomy. Also, there are significant departures from the customary nosologic arrangement of lesions under "pathology" (eg, congenital conditions are discussed next to last).
