Department Chairman Announced.

—The State University of New York, Buffalo, has announced the appointment of William H. Coles, MD, as the new chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology. Prior to moving to Buffalo, Dr Coles served on the faculty of the Louisiana State University Medical School, New Orleans; Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston; and, most recently, Emory University, Atlanta.—Research to Prevent Blindness has announced the appointment of eight senior scientific investigators and two research professorships. The following physicians received senior scientific investigator awards of $40 000: Douglas R. Anderson, MD, University of Miami School of Medicine; Dean Bok, PhD, UCLA; Henry F.
