tion, another ophthalmologist, renowned for his keen intellect and probing questions, noted that discussion of management options for a patient with a melanoma was difficult, because he still didn't know whether to take the eye out or leave it in. The original speaker countered quickly that this was an extremely difficult question to answer, but the iconoclast interrupted just as quickly to say that all details concerning vision-saving procedures were irrelevant until the question of survival could be answered.
