Editor's Reply.
—The ARCHIVES welcomes thoughtful letters such as Dr Volpintesta's. Prospective contributors need only familiarize themselves with the INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS (page 629) and instructions for submitting correspondence (see above). The Editorial Board of the ARCHIVES, is interested in social and political affairs that are relevant to the practice of ophthalmology and, therefore, periodically publishes articles in these areas. A review of recent issues of the ARCHIVES OF OPHTHALMOLOGY1-19 (and of issues scheduled to be published in the near future20-22) provides some useful examples of this editorial policy.
